This is connection. This is Community. This is diabetes toolkit.
A core pillar of Diabetes Toolkit’s mission is to bring people with diabetes together to create connections. We collaborate with other diabetes-related non-profit organizations and our member clinics to create opportunities to build community. Read more about our programs below!

Families with Young Children
When a young child is diagnosed with diabetes, it can be an overwhelming and isolating experience for the entire family. In partnership with our member clinics, Diabetes Toolkit hosts quarterly Playdates for the families of children 6 years and younger. Our goal is to create community, opportunities for peer support, and lifelong connections. Hosted at a local park, this is a time for parents and caregivers to connect while their child is building friendships.
Quarterly Happy Hours
Community is essential for adults with diabetes. In collaboration with our partners at College Diabetes Network, JDRF, and other diabetes organizations, Diabetes Toolkit hosts quarterly Happy Hours for adults with type 1 diabetes. Each event has an educational component and plenty of time for socializing. This is a great opportunity for people with type 1 diabetes to meet people with shared experiences and create a support network of people who just “get it.”

Diabetes Day in the Park
We believe that bringing people and communities together is powerful. To create opportunities to build relationships, Diabetes Toolkit plans and executes annual Diabetes Day in the Park for our Florida-based member clinics. These events include food, games, a small dose of diabetes education and a large dose of fun.
